    Yeah, good point. I have shot pigs with ticks and shot deer in the same locale that appeared to have no bugs. Admittedly I wasn't looking thoroughly but I'd be almost certain they had none.

    well that got me thinking I don't recall seeing lice or ticks on deer in the bush Te Urewera Waioeka Waikaremoana and yet pigs in same area crawling with them - hunting Waitotara in summer...

    How likely are bush deer to have lice / ticks ? Only ticks I ever saw on deer were farm Fallow.

    This. VX-Freedom. My opinion: skip anything with dials, keep it simple. Get some good mounts (Talley) and get someone you trust to help you mount the scope.

    Hey mate i have the -8 and find it well warm enough but i also have a xthurm pad to sleep on think its a R 7 value edit to add i use a silk liner too not need a thermal liner

    If in doubt, I'd get the -11. You can always unzip it, but you can't make the -8 warmer when the mercury drops. (Or, like 199p says, carry a liner to boost the -8 bag when needed. The silk ones...
