   A piece of fiber cement sheet, problem solved for this. A little bit of an air gap underneath and no drama.

   Just be aware some of those burners (the big ol gas one especially) need to be on a heatproof surface - as my mate found out the hard way.

   A lot of cooking creators have gone away from gas because of the noise interfering with the sound of the video if indoors. Have you looked at a small induction cook top? Obviously you can’t wok cook...

   Electric for low and slow. Gas for everything else. Also get some jet cleaners, to ream the jets out a bit, so you get the flame to really get hot....
