I've been nicknamed the BushChook not due to my love of the bush, or my run-ins with the chicken of the bush (Weka) but due to the Bundy repair jobs I've done on my truck and motorcycles.

    That would have been nice but it wouldn't be nearly heavy enough when finished A 7 pound even 577-450 would not be the nicest rifle to shoot well But Ross Nolan I like your thinking

    I got given some highland 130grn...been really impressed with it for a budget load....shot a couple or four deer with it so far and no complaints at all. winchester bog std 150grn stuff is good bush...

    leave em for pigs usually...have eaten a few..makes great jerky...steaks are ok,found roasts bland like lamb...very dark lean meat like hare (which I love) the tails make awesome very very rich...

    My wallaby rifle wears a 3x9x50 Leupold as it came with high rings...the 40mmversion works just as well. Never felt underscoped using 3x9.
