    I'd say the orig owner had that can sitting around or got it cheap- it was then "made to fit" the pencil barrel.

    Threads for suppressors should have a minimum shoulder of 0.50mm (so needs to be 15mm diameter behind the thread) to secure to. Doesn’t look like that has one at all.

    just thinking ...... maybe vernier the od of the barrel and the thread .......if the same maybe its a bubba job not done on a lathe and may not be true to the bore which would/could lead to bullet...

    run a die nut over it with vivid on the face to see if its contacting what there is of a shoulder? the thread looks like its taken a few knocks anyway

    Most M7 barrels I’ve come across the factory bbl is threaded 1/2x28 or 1/2x20

    Tried it when setting up the load I mentioned above, very slightly slower start load for start load compared to 2208 and showed pressure signs earlier than we expected in that combo (140gr pill). ...

    150 ELDX or 120 NBTs on top of 2208/Varget. I’m currently playing with some 119gn Hammers in 18in bbl 708 with 2207. But it’s a Mk5 Weatherby.
