C.T. liked post by Hunter_Nick On thread : Anyone ever had scope rings slide/move on a dovetail/sako mounting system?
I saw a dude dump a new VX6 on the ground at the range, after the rings somehow jumped out of the back of the Sako dovetail. Couldn’t believe it myself, but it happened. The dude said ‘the shop...

Never had Optilocks move, the rear Optilock has a recoil dowel Always used a locating dowel when using Rails on Remington actions and customs

Never had it happen with optilocks. Curious about whether it's possible with a rail that isn't "clamped" into place with some sort of screw system (such as NEAR etc)?

Never had any of my Sakos or Tikkas had the Optilocks rings move. The lug/pin on the rear Tikka Optilock ring should prevent it slipping.

X2. IF the barrel ever needs removed it will make the unscrewing a bit stiff but I doubt it will compromise the barrel or action. gundoc might have a more professional opinion.

As Finnwolf says, possibly a bit tight to remove but no compromise on strength.

I would ignore it, but tell the gunsmith I was not happy as I asked them not to damage the thread. Being a bit OC myself I would possibly make a tool to remove the burr from the thread if I ever was...

C.T. liked post by Cordite On thread : Need advice on damaged barrel thread
Looks like the barrel thread is fairly easy to damage, so likely softer than the receiver thread. I expect it will unscrew just fine and with luck it will emerge with dent straightened out by...

Yes that would piss you off particularly after expressing a concern.....if the barrel is stainless there is a possibility of it seizing and galling on the action threads when removed. Best to...
