We’d planned to disappear into the Ruahines earlier this week before Christmas and as the week approached I hoped the weather would hold out. We’d had some very hot days and despite some drizzle and...

Horses for courses for different people - out to 350 or so, there is NOTHING you can kill with a 308 I can't with my .243 and the .243 is more decisive - lost count the number of deer and Tahr I've...

Greetings Frogfeatures, Looking at the rifles that you already have I wonder if you have considered the intermediate calibres between the .243 and 30 cal. The 30 calibres are great (I have several)...

With normal barrel lengths and 150 grain bullets there is little difference between the two cartridges out to 350 metres, beyond that the .30/06 is a bit flatter, and can be handloaded to about 3000...

It was probably like possum skins around the same time - the buyer took the tax off before payment (25% iirc for skins), so the money we received was tax paid.

Yeh old man bought his new light blue HT in 1974 with Venny shot around the place. I sold in the 90’s and 2000’s to two places here in Rotorua but unsure if they’re buying here off old Joe Bloggs...

Barnes are pretty good but I don’t know if they are the optimum hunting bullet. They expand consistently into a 4 petal shape which does a lot of damage, and penetrate exceptionally well (normally...
