It did indeed fire two darts with trailing wires and an electrical impulse sent to immobilise the animal for live capture. They had a few deaths with deer (they have a very sensitive nervous system)...

I'm not a fan of drilling for two reasons, one it removes weight from the pill and it's not really possible to do it truly consistently and the other is it means the velocity of the pill goes up...
