I removed the guides. And I did some welding/filling and filing and got it to run smooth as butter. But thank you for the offer. I basically cut new guides into them. Sent from my iPhone...

Another thing to check on an older rifle is the mainspring (firing pin spring) as old springs can get soft and cause inconsistent ignition which will give fliers. Happens occasionally on a new rifle...
