    Leaving enough meat for a shoulder, the biggest thread for that size barrel is 15mm or under, so 15x1, 14x1 or 9/16-24, any of those three would be the preferred option.

    Personally I like the 20 gauge. Should be on a smaller lighter frame than the 12g so makes it easier to carry.
