old eyes will see wallaby or a goat at 200 yards with 2.5 power...you have a rifle that was made to function with open sights in origonal form..a low mounted low power scope keeps the ergonomics...

Yes I'd say so. Changing optics is way more of a pain in the arse than most realise. Unless your by a blaser etc.

I'd just get one scope to do both roles. A 2-7 or 2.5-8 would be a good lower cost option. Otherwise a 2-10 or 1-8 would be perfect. If it's a nice looking rifle then it's hard to go wrong...

Was out doing some essential firewood on a local farm. Good patch of watercress, picked up some bones on the way home. Wife and kids love it! Just enough left for my lunch tomorrow. 135048

I reckon the Swaro EL 10 x 32 are the perfect New Zealand compact bino. I have EL 10 x 42’s which are very nice but size and weight wise the 32’s are the answer and you lose nothing in magnification....

I use Swarovski 8x25 CL Pockets and they're awesome. Personally I'd never end up taking 42mm sized binos anywhere, when you can save half a kg in weight and keep that off your neck. I use my binos...
