Biography:
Live in beautiful Alexandra, Central Otago. Always been an avid outdoorsman but relatively new to deer stalking, been a keen fly fisherman my whole life. Spent a lot of time working and traveling overseas so I'm now loving learning as much as I can about this new sport in my 40's. Appreciate learning about the history of the old hut network and stories of the early cullers. I'm a big fan of the guys who make the effort to create hunting content for our viewing enjoyment esp. NZ Hunter and South Island Rifle Walkers - Cheers boys.

    I hunt alone as I hunt mid week being as I have a job where I'm working weekends, would like to hunt more with others but only because I am not great at finding animals so an extra a pair of eyes...

    I don't think the distance in should make a difference to how careful you are. I had an experience early on, falling hard against a tree in a deep little gully about 2.5 hours back from the car...

    Same as all those blocks along the Haast River. Always a chance at a big one. Not that high in deer numbers, but plenty of bush to hide something mature
