I think 223 a legitimate deer cartridge. Personally I hunt with something larger to give me a wider margin of error. People should hunt with whatever they back themselves with.

I remain of the view that there is value in using a calibre/projectile that blows big holes out the other side..... has helped me find a number of Sika bush hunting over the years.

To cover kiwi conditions - .22, 223, and 308 (or similar), and 12 guage. There are of course other centrefire calibers just as effective as 308, but advantage with 308 is you always have a ready...

Good point, the foam is a chlorinated product so once it's burned it will keep releasing chlorine and in the wrong conditions hydrogen cyanide... Fairly nasty.

From previous experience I'd say you'll be very lucky anyone would allow that to be returned to the road. And when you do start to strip it, wear full ppe as all that burnt stuff is highly toxic!
