Great to see you still at it Von. I still remember selling you a Brazilian Mauser 1908, years ago and the lovely work you did to it as a 7x57 if I remember right.

I have successfully used Burris rings in Leupold twist off bases, so I reckon you could give it a go, vice versa.

Thicken the resin up with some Wests powder, it won't soak into the wood nearly as much. I'd still soak that wood in that stain too, to try and keep it moisture resistant. Also the carbon wrap is...

Been cleaning this old .280 Ross for the NZDA Heritage Trust, some of you may have seen it on our Facebook page. It's Archie Kitto's old rifle and when I removed the buttplate I found the original...

I'll probably go the bolt fluting route, but the barrel won't have any add on's. Done the lightweight bolt handle and need to do the shroud too. The buttpad will be the usual foam jandal, rubber pads...

I don't have the gear unfortunately. Sounds like an interesting idea though. I've done the Swiss cheese receiver on a another rifle. Made a little difference but not enough to warrant the cost....

Seen some pretty short 308's made by Scott Trail. It comes down to acheiving a decent powder burn/speeds. I think he got the barrel down to 12 inches maybe. My memory is a bit spotty on it.
