+1 The Fabarm has a compressible piston. Quite light. I bought mine second hand and it had had many 10s of thousands of rounds through it and it looks like it. Still cycles flawlessly.

Happy to lend it to Paul to test out. A bit fiddly to load, but reasonably accurate and virtually nothing moving but pellet and air when you give the trigger a squeeze.

Yeah, you don't lose the energy on getting and keeping the spool spinning when using a fixed spool/egg beater. Only the line is moving.

A multi pump is great for that job. I bought a Canon 737 from Youngs for birds in sheds. I have it sighted in on three pumps.
