Happy as pig in pooh with my Bushnell 10x set. BIG consideration for bush hunting is ...will they fit in tit pocket??? If they won't,they will stay in pack or at home. Mine fit in pocket of my...

For sub-400m, I would go 8x or less for best FOV and brightness in the bush. Personally, I’d grab the Nikon 8x42s that Chainsaw has in the buy/sell on here, although 8x30/32 would be a bit lighter...

If its for predominately the bush, then stick with 8X or even down to 7X, gives you a greater field of view for looking in close. And you wont notice the lack of an extra 2X when you start glassing a...

I had 8X weaver compacts and they were good but went up to 10X Weaver compact and never looked back- now the Weaver are good rubber coated and optics fine - but then look thru a pair of Leica and...

It's pretty rough round the action, more just to get an idea of the shape. Next step was to cut and shape some paulownia for the buttstock, it certainly works easier than the pine! 251261 251262...

Next step was to mill a slot for the extractor and test fit it. 251216 That was all good so milled the old extractor off and tig'd this one in place. Also drilled and tapped the shotgun barrel...

For anybody who has ever wanted functional night vision, but can't realistically go out and buy good Gen 2 or 3 gear, this might be for you, and it saves wasting money on junk digital or Gen 1 crap....

I recently did a hike into Leitch's Hut with the Mrs and took a rifle along just in case. I knew there had been cullers in there for the last couple of months, but its a large area so figured there...

I liked my 7.62x39 on goats and small deer out to 200m, with my current .357 I'm only comfortable out to 100m but it does work well on deer with XTP hollow points. Ultimately if I'm shooting lots...

^^This... I've been using x39 on goats for a while, nice, light, well mannered and no performance issues at all with average cheap expanding hunting bullets. The FMJ is OK for plinking but not...

357mag works well on goats and smaller deer out of a rifle. I mainly used 158 grain soft points. As others have said keep it under 100, the cartridge impressed me out of a rifle. Noise is minimal...

I have shot a lot of animals with the 7.62x39. Back in the days I had it in an AR, SKS, Mini-30 and still have a Ruger Ranch. It's my caliber of choice for anything inside 150m. The PU 123gr soft...

357mag max load, 158gn Powder Coated lead flatpoint, will give you something a little over 1200fps according to Hogdon in an 18in rifle barrel. 16 in and 20 in about 100 something fps each way from...

If you can access Chinese hollow point ammunition, there were cases of it back in 2019 it will do the business. I recall with sadness buying 1200 round wooden cases for $200.

I have a ruger ranch in 7.62x39, great on deer and accurate enough even with the cheap chinese soft point ammo from gc. Was consistently hitting rabbits out to 200m when i was sighting in
