   This is true. Some guys I know are always getting deer ( public land ) and don't wear flash camo gear. The difference is they are always hunting.

    Probably going to go for a 16.5inch proof in 30cal, and run a 300saum as per Kelton advice. After playing with grt, I should get a 155g vld berger moving at around 2888fps with rl17 and a 16.5inch...

    Id keep it somewhat simple with 7mm SAUM at 18" (or more). I wouldn't bother going shorter then that, there's just no need as 18" is plenty short enough. Even my 20" SAUM is a very short handy rifle...
