It did, took ages to get the iron clean enough to use again. Luckily its a dedicated workshop one not the wife's best iron (although can't remember the last time we used it)

Cotton cloth and a steam iron is what I use for steaming dents out of timber. Only once made the mistake of using microfleece when in a hurry
