I've been interested in rifles and shooting since my teenage years (now 40). Mostly into long range target or rabbit shooting using a laser range finder and dialable scope.

    Yeah. All the Warnes I've seen have the cross bar. So as above, the are probably made for dovetail base.

    My guess is they are made for a rifle with a dovetail that doesn't have the recoil slot. They do a version that has a recoil lug on one side of the rear ring to fit BRNOs.

    I'd say if you're worried about wind you are too far away away and should get closer - its called "stalking" and its a very underated skill that is way easier to learn than making wind calls!
