I'm shooting rifles that are throughly tested, I already have a very clear idea of their capability. I like 10 shot groups to test ammo, if I get a flier out of the group that isn't caused by wind...

Try a whole range of scopes if you can. Often times some scopes dont suit your eye relief or you dont like the recticle or a multitude of reasons why that particular scope doesnt do it for you ....
