I wouldn’t worry too much about locking turrets. I’ve got a Swarovski z5 with a non locking elevation turret and have carried it for years in the bush and the open and never had it shift once.

This. I used rh for years until competitive shooting instruction made me go lh. My shooting rocketed forward. I have lh bolts but having used a blr for 20+yrs as well, it carries so many benefits...

My Dad has blind spots in the centre of his right eye and had to teach himself to shoot left handed with a custom bolt action and did well. However for hunting he went to a lever. (1970's). One...

left handed. go left handed. cant imagine many right handers putting up with a left hand rifle. its easier to hold a position while running the bolt ect.

Having a leftie bolt gives a good excuse not to lend it to your right handed mates in the future as well (if you dont see spending rifles the same as lending out wives)

If you shoot left handed pay the extra couple hundy and get a left handed bolty, you will never look back. I started with a right handed rifle which worked fine but having gear that actually fits...
