I've got a mate who runs refined (filtered and centrifuged) auto transmission fluid in a Nissan turbo. Apparently viscosity is a key issue. If he is using other oils he blends it with diesel.

Keep an eye on the weights of the rifles you are considering. If you intend to carry it all day, consider something around the 6lb bare. If you are range shooting then some of them are up over 8.5lb.
