Kahles 1.5 - 6, nice classic scope, excellent glass, very usable. Not sure where you're find one tho, they dont come up for sale very often.

I use 2206H in my 7x57 with 140's, slightly more than you loads, but not much. And for about the same velocity. Theres something pretty satisfying hitting an animal with a 7x57, they all seem to go...

Now, if you dont want to lose the rear sight, simply turn it around and replace it backwards, so the "V" is towards the muzzle. And you can sight it in like that as well and use it if needed.

Have had a couple of blued rifles ceracoated in the dark "blue" matt to look just like a blued rifle, came up great. Whoever is doing your ceracoating will lightly bead blast all the metal surfaces...

If it was me, I'd keep the 25-06, great calibre, capable of way more than 300 if you have the trigger time, plenty of projectiles that kill shit. And I would build a 6.5-06 to the specs I want for...
