   Treat all .250 primers as corrosive (no big deal if you clean correctly). I got someone to spin me up a larger stem for the ram prime .

   16" quite a lot, is the rifle a sporter? You may not get the elevation right with sight blades- the minor adjustment range available was meant for fully wooded rifles firing a standard military load....

    I do remember as a teen firing a ton of those heavy round nosed rounds out of dads' 'Three Oh'. Had phenomenal penetration through native timber. I for one would not be hiding behind a foot diameter...
