They seat better I find and they also seem to keep the bore cleaner at high speed. But I don't reckon the blast melts the bases. Not from the unchecked bullets I've recovered from the dirt anyway.

I agree, most people don't shoot animals far enough away to notice the difference but it can cause headaches, confusion and be potentially dangerous when developing a load which is relevant here....
