Barry the hunter liked post by John Duxbury On thread : A question for the doubters
I don't think Daniel Boone said that though....Daniel Boone had lots of rifles, but the indians kept taking them off him... I love the .223 and all kinds of rifles. I was out shooting a flintlock...

Oh. Must have thought better of it. My only gripe is that he uses Aramax as his courier. Which is like to packaging something up really nicely, and then throwing it in the ocean and hoping it...

That's over 200 fps faster that it should be with 2208! I wouldnt use 2208 in a .243, too slow velocities for me for general purpose deer weight bullets and I dont shoot really light bullets. A...

I don't leave them near tracks or huts. And I wait till they get out of creeks before I shoot them. Otherwise offal just stays in the bush where I shot it. This thread reminds me of a young hunter...

woods223 liked post by John Duxbury On thread : A question for the doubters
Gimp is, of course, correct. He is also very far from being a bad shot. I have shot deer with pure lead bullets out of a 19th century .44-40 which has half the energy of a .223, and the deer all...

Bullet construction is actioned by velocity. It's hard not to believe in velocity when you shoot a deer with a .223 or a .243 and then pour the chest contents out in a red soup.

The Chinese JW15 is a knock off of the old BRNO, which itself was a cheap Eastern-European knock-off the Mauser .22LR from the 1930's. It's German Mauser DNA that shines through in the design.
