Sorry Larrygoat, Bad idea to neck down that much. You are still going to need neck annealing after which the cases may not shoot that well due to uneven neck thickness. Buy some proper .243 cases...

I would suggest if your going to do it ,do it on a 700 short as they can have the mag lenghtend to give you extra room . A model 7 cant be extended .

I had a .300 savage in a 99. Mechanically nice but the trigger was not flash and not a diy job for most. I found it hard to love. If it’s your first have a play with it before you drop the cash.
