A bit better than average for us. Limit of 140 for mallards on Saturday plus a few parries. Another 40 odd yesterday but we hadn't had a tally up when I headed home. Probably lost 10 to hawks out in...

Probably more deer in the roar blocks we hunted this year than previous ones (same blocks or general area). Would have averaged seeing 40+ deer per trip. We shot a two decent stags on the coast...

Popped up to the N.I in the weekend, drove into the Kaimanawa’s, and found some sika. Shot this stag, he snuck in for a look 8 minutes after letting out a single call, neck shot at less than 10...

Glue them, pull in tight with some decent tape. Then seal the whole skull with a 50/50 mix of PVA glue and water. In the future, don't boil them too hard out. Simmer them until the flesh/membrane...

Six days of perfect weather, stags roaring well, worked bloody hard - averaging 11km per day and after passing up several stags during the week, I caught this guy out sneaking across the clearing...

Moa Hunter liked post by JoshC On thread : Anyone know if these Rata Range (Catlins) roads are locked?
The better hunting around there is the fringes, which are all pretty accessible on foot. Only bush during the roar period. I wouldn’t bother going deep into that country unless it’s during the roar. ...

That is a small restricted block, it’s steep and pretty hard hunting, but worth a look. Wisp Hill Station mainly boundaries all the Catlins Rainforest Park from Mt Tautuku area westwards. From...
