   Bolt should hit up against the barrel if that's what you mean. There should also be a either a hardened steel or a synthetic recoil pin at the rear. That bit is #6 on the drawing

   Almost sounds like the c clip is loose. Should be as tight as to get on

   When you see alot of hunting, shooting or big blue shed related stickers on utes and other vehicles you get the idea where to look for rifles. Less bait is probly a good start.
