Yeah sorry, not at this end but back in South Africa. Apparently it has to go for ballistic testing to make sure it hasn't been used in a murder etc and this is just for a family 22lr heirloom

Koshogi liked post by Sidney On thread : Why do hunters continue to be accidentally shot?
If you are going to argue about semantics to fit your world view you should try to be more precise. They are an intentional shooting in error with an accidental outcome. Accidents can be avoided,...

That's like saying that if one of my neighbours crashes his car pissed every weekend, and my other neighbour smashes his up at the racetrack every other race meet, we should all pay the same...

You can be a "shooter" without ever hunting. Lots of people involved in shooting sport on target ranges that never hunt... This is a hunting issue. The only sector in the NZ shooting community where...

In my humble opinion, the first step to prevent this from happening is admitting that it very well could happen to you, we're all human and all make mistakes, but best to learn from other people's. ...

There is nothing "obvious" until you know all the facts. Couple of years ago someone was shot by a very senior NZDA member, MSC instructor etc. Right up until the moment he pulled the trigger, he was...

Unfortunately it is often experienced hunters shooting friends in the same hunting party, not the weekend worrier that gets out once a year. Until more info comes out this could be either. Hell,...

Hold on we all drive cars, thats a terrible risk!! Its bad that these things happen, but the odds are stacked in your favour, just be careful and aware of your surrounding, best you can do.

I see one of the commenter's suggested that license holders should be charged enough to pay for everything. A fee per gun registered. Renewal once a year. Pay for all vetting. Make it so expensive to...

I love how these hysterical morons go on about banning already registered categories of firearms, and then in the next breath talk about registering the rest. What a great incentive for A holders to...

But they have to undergo two weeks of training, which does include a written test (which is far more involved than the MSC test) and re-cert yearly. Police have 'golden rules' but only four of them....
