I wanted to have a fair lick at the roar this year - you never know if its going to be your last - so I travelled a lot and looked at a few different spots. Both public and private. There were...

Yesterday I shot a hind with a 162 a-max at 390 yds. Muzzle velocity was 2750, I hit her 1/3 of the way up her shoulder straight above her leg. The exit was down low in front of her opposite leg....

7mm rem ultra mag is the one for that, also most "short magnums" suffer throat erosion more than a porn star

Remington 700 in old fashioned 7mm Rem Mag for open country when the short 308 won't do. Have had this rifle for a while but added the stock this week, I will just leave it as it is for now. I am...

Yep 2217 goes well with that weight range. I run a full case of 2217 with the 162 Amax and it shoots tight at 3,005 from a suppressed 22" tube.

The tikka T3 lite in 7mmrem mag will not blow your shoulder apart. A light load of adi AR2217, say 70-72 grains will give you 2900-3000fps with a 162g a-max and will be like a 7mm-08 to shoot ...
