   "Hi" is a greeting and "lux is an abbreviation/slang for Electrolux, an old vacuum cleaner so....... hilux means " hello old vacuum cleaner"? Which logically would indicate that they suck.

    my dad still uses one of these but his reel was made here in NZ, Christchurch I believe. They are still a very nice rod even by todays standards.
