   I have a Simson Mauser 98 in 9.3X62 with octagon to round barrel and full length rib. Made before 1912, when the proof mark laws changed. 254605

   Just been going over some guns today with a bit of oil and noticed this old girl was 100 last year , made in 1923 , I brought this rifle a couple years ago off a gentlemen who’s father brought it in...
