I have a Unique Audax which is their very rare bolt action. I don't know how they do it but even my bolt gun has a French quirkiness to it.

Marty Henry liked post by Flyblown On thread : .223 ammo choices for farm pest control
I’ve used heaps of the Belmont Black 55gr and 62gr ammo in a battered Sako 85 .223, goats and red deer. I’ll only head or neck shoot the reds with these bullets, unless they’re yearlings. The biggest...

The rifle you have is probably not able to cut the mustard at long range (and from a hunting perspective 500 metres is long range. The characteristics of the rifle are a good indicator of its...

The previous day’s activities taught me a lot, so the following day I arrived in the same spot at the fence to take stock of the wind. I was earlier this time, and I was a bit frustrated as on the...

Marty Henry liked post by 7.62 On thread : Advice on semi auto rimfire for goats
I found the 22mag a bit of a mixed bag on goats. As Flyblown mentions, yearlings and the like are quite diminutive in size; a 22mag will cream them at 100yd no trouble. But solid billies are a...

100% agreed. On top of that I have had more success of getting the majority of goats by just me shooting and taking a bit of time between shots too. Rather than 2 or 4 people bombing them up. ...

I don’t really agree with the statement mate. When culling goats it’s all about picking the oldest nannies first. The yearlings and kids very rarely run away after the old girl goes down, especially...
