Barrel fluting really does not save you a lot of weight. Think 100-200 grams... You could easily save that much weight by going to a lighter scope, with ZERO impact on harmonics... If you do...

Ive just taken a 3x9 off main hunting rifle...put a classy 6x on it...for a month,one hunt and it came off and a fixed 4x went on her...and I cant see it coming off anytime soon.

ive got my m96 sporter a t3 and m38 i use for service rifle i still find i grab the sporter the most the t3 is nice modern stainless plastic seems to kill the same even tho the sporter runs slightly...
