I haven't seen those magnum wads since the 80s. I've got that mold and they cast at .672 compared to a winchester rifled slug which mikes at .712 and is bare in the case just two fibre and a card...

I have a large pile of old American rifleman magazines from the late 50s through the early 70s. I find them a treasure trove of articles much of which seems to be regurgitated in modern magazines...

Old Lyman manuals would probably be the best textbook for anyone starting out. The basic principles dont change but through experimentation guys develop shortcuts or sidesteps based on experience....
