    For 1000 fps pure lead, wheel weight all would be fine its only when you start getting up to 1600 plus that you really need to think about special alloys, and beyond that theres gas checks.

    Correct, and konevs point about light ones with thin jackets in very fast twists is a good one. At 3200 fps a bullet fired from a 1:7 twist is doing 329,1000 rpm and that will rip a 40 grain varmit...
