   It's primarily a question of noise vs. range. 22LR suppressed firing subsonic rounds is silent. Experienced hands use it to 100 metres plus, but personally I think it best to 75 metres....

   Giant kokopu and several other freshwater indigenous fish are threatened, but have no formal protection. Same situation with longfin eels. Lots of our wildlife regulations make no sense to anyone.
