"Balance" can be a bit of a personal thing. Personally I prefer something with a bit of weight in the nose. I don't shoot muzzle light rifles well.

That's interesting. All of my jig heads are hook up and tied off at the top of the head like pictured above. Mostly use Berkley Nitro. Hook up makes it far less likely to snag the bottom IMO.
