Swings and round abouts - Had 2 Savages 1 with a heavy and the other a pencil - yes with the heavy you can fire more shots quickly before things heat up, but the barrel with retain its heat for...

As maca 49 says it's rifled probably 1:40 or slower so start with round ball. The old fashioned way with those to get the charge is to place the ball in the palm of your hand and pour powder onto it...

You probably put about 60 grains of FFFG down the barrel, after cleaning any oil out and depending of the twist, stuff a round ball with a greased patch or a greased 45 cal projectile down the...

Marlins aren't what I would call a super strong action like the ruger no.1. I don't think it's smart to try for 2400fts for example with a mid weight bullet. That would be violent to shoot anyway

1800fts with a 300gn is pretty manageable if your shoulder is injury free. After about 20 shots that's starting to feel pretty ordinary if I'm being honest. Not really a plinking load

My trapdoor I load BP only with a 500 grain projectile, being BP it pushes , sorta, but after 30 rounds, you know you’ve been pulling the trigger. I used to load with paracetamol at the beginning of...

I asked bergara for their input on this and their official stance was to keep them pretty mild. I'll see if i can find it

Think of it this way, if the bullet misses it's target the velocity becomes irrelevant.

Love mine. The most comfortable bag I’ve slept in. I’m built like a brick shithouse and appreciate the ample shoulder room and the zip being down the front. I’ve got the 500 and never been cold.

Really good bags. I have the black stag 800 and I've only had to zip it up a couple of times, really really warm, I'm a warm sleeper so didn't go to the top of the range one and I'm glad I didn't or...
