I think this is one of those it depends who you ask questions. The guys at my local gun store reckon there needs to be clearance but you want it to be minimal, so you don't get scrub etc down...

Yes. Exactly the reason I have never thought you need premium or bonded bullets for 6.5 caliber. They penetrate so well anyway 'cos of their high SD.

Yes, I certainly noticed an increase in recoil. Just adds to the fun of course. Entirely tolerable in a rifle that weighs 5.1kg. 217677

8208 is as good as it gets in the Grendel for accuracy and the speed you have. CFE223 is what I started with and moved to 8208 on recommendation, best choice as its not a hotrod round and be happy.
