I have a little Shimano telescopic spin rod. It works well, and I have used it a lot softbaiting snapper in the Firth of Thames from the jetski.

No I just used a solid piece. Gave it several coats of hard varnish inside and out.. We'll see how it goes. If I wanted to sell the rifle theres 2 nice walnut ones.
