I have a 308 in both 16 and 18 inch and they both kill stuff just fine. My advice would be not to shorten at all and see if you like it the way it is. You can always shorten at a later date(a...

It took me a while to get into suppressors. Now that I’ve done it I don’t regret it. I don’t believe it’s a fad it has useful applications. It’s not for everybody but it’s not a fad either. Only...

A few things to note: 1. A suppressor will still not eliminate hearing damage. Depending on the cartridge etc a suppressed rifle will still be around 130-140db. Hearing damage starts at even 85db...

as above, Trailboss and the heaviest bullet you can get. 243 with 8gr TB and 105gr is just subsonic but I'm not comfortable shooting with a case thats only 60% full so did not continue. (OK...

Oh and reading further, the primer can pop the projectile out (thus reducing pressure) then the powder pressure builds causing a spike and boom!

Ok it seems the danger of using w296 is squibs from inconsistent burn. It's not the initial shot fired, it's the firing into a sqib. Using good primers (I've used CCI Magnum pistol) and good crimps...

Boat tail designs were invented to stop me swearing while trying to balance flat base projectiles on cases and having them fall off. This problem is made even worse with smaller diameter cartridges....

Interestingly, the shitty old lee powder dispenser is metering perfectly on W296 unlike with AP70N. I'm impressed.

With a 14" barrel you'll be limited to a little over 2400 ft/sec with a 150gr bullet and AR2208 anyway. I'm not sure that changing either the bullet, powder, or quantity of powder is such a good...

Thankfully Im sitting down as I write this, I must agree with Systolic on this. Lyman, rcbs etc all make excellent dies. Lee dies are in my experience every bit as good at half the price.
