    Do you have a picture or the offending set-up and know what the screws were torqued to? Did the gunsmith put the scope on after chopping by any chance - perhaps they overtorqued it?

    Optilocks are my preferred rings. They grip the scope well without garking the anodizing. You also have some options for correcting base misalignment.

    Greetings Dawg, I note that Hodgdons has a max of 54.3 grains of AR2209 for 3,012 fps at 50,500 CUP in a 24" barrel. Your 18" barrel would lose 25fps maybe 30 fps per inch or 150 fps to 180 fps...
