You don't need anything special, a standard bush hunting setup will do the job. .308 or similar calibres will knock them down dead and cover goats and deer as well.

It's definitely worth the effort and time to gut and carry the boned out carcass to the ute. Wild pork is delicious

What do you currently have? .223 with barnes or partitions, a 243 or 250 with anything and any larger calibre is more than enough.

Greetings Moa Hunter, Not quite. The primer backed out of the case just means that the pressure is not high enough to stretch the cases. I have not noted any leakage with backed out primers. We are...

My guess with the dents is that upon firing when the head seperates the rest of case fires foward in the chamber rapidly witch compresses the case much like what happens when you bump the shoulder...

If those dents in the separated case were caused by gas bypassing the case it would pay to check the chamber for gas cutting. When a primer fails you get a nice little hole in your bolt face.

That ring you can see will line up nicely with the seperate stub. Section a case end for end for a better view. With a belted case like the 7mm RM it is often better to headspace off the shoulder...

Get a bit of wire and have a feel around the inside where that ring is showing on that fired case just at the tip of your middle finger
