    Cold shouldn't kill it it just slows the process down heaps. Make sure you are feeding it 50/50 flour to water by weight not volume other,wise you will have too much water.

    I'd go for a fixed 6x42 and separate rangefinder. Get to know your rifle and load and a clear rugged 6x will be all you need. Rugged and clear beat out the whiz-bang gadgets. No electronics also...

    My 7mm SAUM is a factory standard 22" barrel, I'm pushing the 162 Amax at 3087 fps with RE26, so id imagine chopping 2 inches off would still achieve 3k+ with 162's
