No they can fuck off. Paid canned hunts and trophy hunts are “ethically challenged” and create extremely bad press for all hunters. Secondly as Smiddy says, non deserving shits and giggles cowboys...

I managed to get a free weekend so conned a mate into going back to an area I hadn't been in to in years. Walking in to the hut on Friday night reminded me why I hadn't been back in 5 years! I am...

The red faces are from the cold and retrieval, Mooseman didn't tell the full story. I couldn't find the animal from my second shot, with darkness closing in I scoured the area with no joy then...

An old farts view is that the 308 kills better than a 7-08 'cos of the bigger hole. My experience is the same with the 7RM v 300 (albeit limited with the 7RM) - bigger, mushier, bleedier, deaderer. ...

I would (and do) use the 150s, any 10 twist barrel will stabilise them just fine, 140s are a funny thing in the 270, they dont have the speed of a 130 and dont have the thump of a 150, some might say...

I am also a 7mm slut. Lots of 7,s in the cabinet. 3 are RM, custom 700, sako 75 and a tikka. All shoot equally very well out to 1000m . All do 3/4 moa with individual handloads and are all within...

This is good advice i reckon, you definitely need to be honest with yourself about what 'long range' is for you in a hunting situation. IE in most steap as public land, often a 400-500 yard shot...

As others have said - out of the two you mention 7mmRM would be better for "long range" .... but begs the question - what is it you want to achieve when you say "long range" ? & are you going to...
