I started out with the 303 as a lot did back in 1970. Soon after I replaced it with a Parker Hale Hassar 270 which I had for many years and shot quite a few animals with it. When in Forest Service I...

Hi caberslash Yes we got our Sako Vixen 222 for $240 with rings and a 4 xWeaver scope, and ammo was free. We were allocated 3 rounds per kill so we ended up with surplus as when we hunted 7 days a...

Yep in the area we hunt sambar it gets a fair bit of spotlight/thermal pressure, I supose it is easier to get a sambar in the light but I much prefer beating them at there own game in their...

Yes you are right they still killed well, back then we didn't know to much about ballistics, it went bang and animals fell over.

Not sure in the 2506 but works well in my 270 and 3006. With 178 gr ELD X and 58 grs of SF I get over 2700 fps. And accuracy is good.

173592 My Mod 7 223 just got a face lift with a DPT suppressor , it's shooting quite well, I tried seven different loads at 200 yards and all were within 5-6 inches of bull. It was a little left...

These are a couple of the targets I shot after the suppressor was fitted, it was a bit windy but was in a sheltered gully which helped. My rifle is sighted in for the Hornady 55 gr SP/WC bullet and...
