If going with a .243 then I wouldn’t pass up on using 95 gr targex projectiles, after all their made right here in NZ, have great accuracy and are efficient killers.

Shoot one and find out for yourself, simple really. Hornady 55SP work for me from 2800 to a shade under 2300fps. 72 deer down in last year so they work for me.

.243 will be perfect. I use one as my night culling rifle. Went with .243 as I have far less chance of losing sight picture when I shoot. Mine is 18.5" and mostly use 105gr targex and reloder 26....

With the 1:8 the Hornady ELD in 108gr or 103gr could be on the table as well. I use the 108gr ELD-M's in mine. Z

A mild loaded 6.5CM with light 120gr ELD-M projectiles with a suppressor should be quite tame to shoot and it'd be hard to tell apart from a 100grn .243 I would have thought.
