It possibly has come into contact with/rubbed on non s steel (grinding dust etc)at manufacture or elsewhere. My Kimber (about 12 yo) gets put away wet and generally not well looked after and no sign...

Hi all. What have we here? Have shot plenty of reds but havnt seen one with white spotting right down flanks (fawns and sika, yeah) .Its fawn was normal red colouring. Was decent size animal. ...

yeah, kept the skin. Was thinking maybe sika hybrid , head looks normal red.
