    What is the noise vs unsupressed? If there is still a meaningful reduction then its hardly pointless, just a balance between recoil and noise, could also be balanced with further baffles as well.

    Same way a brake is louder at the shooter than a non braked rifle, directs noise/pressure back at the shooter.
